Red and Black Ensemble at Oscar de la Renta

It was one of the craziest experience when i was rushing to Oscar de la Renta show in New York. I was running about 25 minutes late! New York is known to start shows late because they are all over Manhattan and the traffic is no joke. As i was getting close to the front of the Prince George hotel, where the show was taking place, I did not see anyone else rushing to the door. Instead, there was a sea of photographers that surrounded me trying to get a shot. So, i assumed that the show started and stopped to pose for them for a couple mins.

After a little shoot, i decided to ask if the show already started and the security at the door said: “No, hurry up!” As i ran in the room, I found myself right on the runway, all the guests already seated, patiently waiting for the show to begin. One of the girls from PR team quickly escorted me to the seat and as i was trying to catch my breath and understand what is happening the lights turned off, music started playing and we saw an opening number.

I was trying to get a couple of photos from the 2nd row as elegant ensembles were parading down the runway, I realized that every shot had red hair in it! It took me a second to realize that I am seating behind Grace Coddington and Anna Wintour…

Oscar de la Renta’s spirit hovered in the ballroom, the collection was timeless and very special. I felt so honored to have had an opportunity to watch the show.

As we were exiting the hotel after the show, I was walking next to Anna Wintour who took of her sunglasses, looked at me and we smiled at each other…

Repping Toronto on the Streets of New York

On day 5 of New York Fashion Week I decided to have fun with the sportswear trend and opted for a comfy outfit. Last season when i was in New York in February, All Star NBA game was taking place in Brooklyn. Kyle Lowry #7 was the only player to be picked from Raptors to join the game. So, i grabbed his All Star jersey and paired it with light blue dress pants that i tucked in high socks matching my Adidas originals. And of course, repping Toronto that day wearing my OVO 6 hat.

Breaking Hearts and Smashing Balls

Breaking hearts and smashing balls…Well, apparently, I am good at first but cant hit a single ball!..Blame it on growing up in Russia where this sport is far from being popular.
My knowledge of baseball consists of the following:

  • Blue Jays are cool and they won the Atlantic division this season (I spent 11 years in Toronto!)
  • Everyone loves Jose Bautista and he flipped the bat and it went viral…
  • And that Kansas Royals won the finals this year

So, congrats, champs! Here is my take on baseball captured by Samuel.Black in California.

Meeting Zac Posen in New York

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
I have been a fan of Zac Posen for a long time. In February, I was lucky to attend his show when he celebrated women of color and Naomi Campbell slayed down the runway surprising everyone in the finale. This season, I could not wait to watch the show again. The collection was breathtakingly beautiful and after the show i got to go backstage where the designer was talking about the inspiration and his plans for the future. I got to meet Zac Posen as well and let me tell you, he is a sweetheart!

Peacock Print at NYFW

On one of the days during New York Fashion Week, I decided to wear a crazy peacock print dress from Spring Summer 2016 collection by one of my favorite Canadian designers, Hilary MacMillan. It was so much fun to wear such a bold dress! As i was coming out of the DKNY show at the World Trade Centre a see of streetstyle photographers surrounded me.

Morning Hangs in Williamsburg, NY

I am definitely not a morning person but catching those first rays of sunshine is such a blessing. While on a morning stroll for a coffee with Jono Parker who was visiting New York all the way from New Zealand, we decided to take advantage of beautiful light and raw Williamsburg backgrounds.
No make up, no hair, no planning. Coffee and avo toast never tasted better.

PAYTONly Waiting for NBA Season to Start

Are you an NBA fan like me? Well, in this case you will appreciate this little series.
My teams are Raptors (East Coast, repping Toronto) and Lakers (West Coast favs). Recently, I went to see them play against each other in ON, California for a pre-season game. Raps ate Lakers alive winning 105-97…
Inspired, I went to ‘play’ hoops in nothing but Sonic’s Gary Payton’s #20 jersey. Captured by Samuel.Black

Must Be the Rosé | South Beach Edition

During Miami Swim Week, I teamed up with Samuel.Black and Mia Marcelle Swimwear for a quick shoot. Swim week is a whirlwind, running around South Beach in extreme heat and humidity from castings to fittings to shows. So, it was super refreshing to have a glass of Rosé and have fun on the beach.

Rien que pour vos yeux

I have always loved French people, their bitchy attitude and laid back perspective of life. When I met Tess Feuilhade and Virgile Reboul, photoraphers from Paris, I knew that our shoot would be very cool with a lot of European flavor. With their influence, things got steamy and provocative. The only thing we were really missing was Rosé 😉
